As a valuation specialist in new development, the union vs. non-union labor distinction is important. Unfortunately, the construction industry in NYC is so complex that it’s a whole expertise unto itself. My general disposition (given the limited understanding of the issues) is that non-union labor makes economic sense for most projects, while at the same time Irecognize some benefits/moral arguments for using union labor.
